Commitment to a Safe Environment
KOHOKAI is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive training environment for all members. Training is conducted in accordance with established standards of conduct, with careful attention to both physical safety and personal wellbeing.
Club Governance
KOHOKAI operates as a not‑for‑profit martial arts club administered and instructed by volunteers. All funds are directed toward:
- supporting training activities
- maintaining equipment
- contributing to the ongoing development of the arts practised within the club
Child Safety & Conduct
KOHOKAI adopts child‑safe practices consistent with Australian sporting guidelines. This includes:
- appropriate supervision during all activities
- maintaining clear behavioural boundaries
- promoting respectful conduct at all times
Alcohol‑Free, Smoke‑Free & Safe Transport
KOHOKAI maintains an alcohol‑free and smoke‑free training environment. The club promotes:

- safe transport practices for members and visitors
KOHOKAI participates in the Good Sports program and holds Gold Medal accreditation, reflecting a strong commitment to responsible club culture.
Sun Protection & Heat Safety
Where activities take place outdoors, KOHOKAI promotes sun‑safe practices consistent with SunSmart guidelines, including:
- appropriate scheduling
- hydration
- use of protective clothing
- access to shade
Education & Training Standards
Instructors and officials support ongoing education through recognised programs, including:
- Play by the Rules
- Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) resources
