Who Can Join

Budo is a lifelong pursuit, and we welcome individuals who approach   training with sincerity and discipline. Our practice is open to:

  • Adults of all experience levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners.
  • Those seeking mental clarity, discipline, and a connection to tradition.
  • Prospective members who respect the formal nature of the dojo.
  • Practitioners wishing to continue their journey via a different route.

Training Environment

Training at Kohokai takes place in a dedicated environment designed to foster concentration and mental clarity. Our dojo is more than just a place to practice; it is a space for modern students to connect with centuries of Japanese tradition through the study of Budō. We prioritize an atmosphere of mutual respect and mindfulness, consistent with values of Japanese tradition.

What to Expect

The training can be physically and mentally demanding, requiring focus and persistence. Students progress through a structured curriculum under the guidance of experienced instructors. Practice session frequency varies by discipline, typically involving 1–2 sessions per week. Prospective students should be prepared for a disciplined environment where etiquette (Reishiki) is as important as technical skill.
